I Love Mostar Gelato

We think the best ice cream in town can be found at I Love Mostar Gelato, located just past the open market on the east side of the Neretva (located on the left hand side of the street). There is a gelato stand out front, so you can easily grab a cup or a cone as you stroll through Old Town. We will point out I Love Mostar Gelato on our Free Tour so you cannot miss it!

Lasta

Lasta is located just next to the Old Bridge and offers a lovely perch from which to watch the comings and goings through Old Town. Lasta offers a selection of traditional sweets (baklava, tulumba, hurmasica) as well as ice cream. We recommend taking a break from your exploration of Mostar by trying a traditional Bosnian coffee with lokum!

Palma

Palma should not be missed if you want to sample Bosnian cakes and experience a café frequented by locals. Palma truly has it all. While the original location is a bit of a walk from old town, Palma is opening a second location on Brace Fejica – this is great news for everyone whether local or visitor to Mostar! The cakes (the sampita is surely the best in town!), ice cream, pancakes and coffee are all excellent. And if you prefer savory dishes or are looking for a bigger meal, the original Palma has you covered! Palma has an adjoining kebab shop which does not disappoint. Well worth the walk!

Café Fratello

Café Fratello is locally known as Café Emina for the statue of Emina that is located on the corner just in front of the cafe’s outdoor seating area. Go check out the statue and learn about the poem by Aleksa Santic (a Mostarian poet) which inspired the statue and then stay for a coffee or a beer. The outdoor seating is shaded by trees and umbrellas so it’s a pleasant escape from the summer sun. We particularly like this spot for an early morning coffee or a beer to close out the day!
