Dining

Food House

One of our favorites where you will often seeing us getting a meal or having a drink. Food House has something for everyone – whether you have a craving for traditional Herzegovinian cuisine, pizza or a cheeseburger. With the best all-around menu for the most reasonable prices in Old Town as well as a welcoming and upbeat atmosphere, you will leave Food House with your hunger satisfied and in a great mood. If you go with a friend (or two), we recommend the Wedding Feast platter, which will give you an opportunity to try a little bit of everything and then some more!

Aščinica Demirlija

Do you want to eat some of the best truly local food at a place where the locals themselves go to eat lunch? If so, this is THE PLACE for you. Owned and operated by a mother and son, you will get your choice of delicious, made-from-scratch favorites in this small restaurant right on the border of the Old Town and next to the new Marriot construction. Choose Aščinica Demirlija for lunch or an early dinner because they close early! We recommend the homemade pita and grah…but really, you cannot go wrong with whatever dish you choose. Try something new from the daily menu!

Ristorante Mio Pasto

Mio Pasto might be a new kid on the block (est. 2018), but the polished service and impeccable food are that of a long established restaurant. Mio Pasto is a perfect combination of the traditional and the modern, which results in a comfortable, friendly ambiance that retains a distinct Herzegovinian charm. The location is ideal with one of the best views of Stari Most and the Neretva River with a relaxing atmosphere that feels all the more lovely after walking through the crowded streets of Old Town. Enjoy a range of dishes from steak and traditional grilled platters, to pasta and salads, as well as pizza. There is something for everyone here – Mio Pasta will provide you an experience to remember during your visit to Mostar.

Hindi Han

One of the most popular restaurants in the heart of Old Town, Hindi Han has a lovely view of the Radoblja River at its junction with the Neretva and retains an old school charm throughout the interior. During the summer, try to make reservations in advance if you want to get a seat outside overlooking the water or swing by during off-peak hours. Best known for its wonderful traditional meals, we highly recommend the Mučkalica (a spicy veal stew) as well as the Beef Filet. The few extra marks you spend at Hindi Han will be well worth it when you see your meal arrive at your table and take your first bite! Prijatno!

Pekara Lučki Most

If you are looking for a quick, inexpensive bite to eat, why not try a local bakery? We think Pekara Lučki Most has the best pita in town! Pita is a stuffed, baked pastry made of crispy phyllo (yufka) dough. Try Sirnica (cheese), Burek (meat), or Krompiraša (potato) pie. This pekara is always busy, so its pita is always fresh. Pick up some pita and then head to Café Fratello (see below) for a drink to go with your meal.
